Hello everybody, my name is Alex Enfield and I come from a
smaller town within Orange County, called La Mirada. I have a close
relationship with my family and my friends who I have grown up with. I spent most
of high school playing soccer, dancing, volunteering, hiking, and other random
adventures. I have always known that I wanted
to go to a college far away from home and I was always set on going to the east
coast. After visiting UCSB though, I feel in love with the school and really
began to appreciate the beauty of living in California. I also liked how
spirited and active of a school UCSB was, which seemed very suiting for me. I
spent the majority of my summer in FSSP, taking 9 units as a way to get ahead
and to enjoy living on my own early. I am currently a freshman here at UCSB and
I am looking for ways to get as involved on campus as possible. I have just
recently joined the sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and I will also be trying out for
the rowing team soon. I intend to spend my free time playing soccer and joining
cycling classes offered at the recreation center. I have recently applied to volunteer at the
Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, and I am hoping I will be assigned to help
within the E.R. unit or the neurological unit. I hope to major in biopsychology
within four years and to then apply for the Peace Corps. I would like to go to
Thailand or Africa and to provide healthcare services to as many people as
possible. After I get back from the Peace
Corps, I will apply to medical school, where I will then be able to pursue my
lifelong dream of becoming a psychiatrist for active members of the military
and/or veterans.
